5 Pronounceable Ingredients Peanut Butter Cups

Do you love chocolate and peanut butter? Do you also love being able to pronounce the ingredients on your food products? I'm all about improving my vocabulary but I don't feel like I should need a biochemistry degree to figure out what my food is made of.

If you’re a fan of peanut butter cups, but want to cut down on preservatives and added sugars that conventional candy uses, try this recipe! So quick to make and uses minimal ingredients. Personal trainer (strong bias here), husband, and dog approved.

Prep time: 25 minutes

Servings: 10 (unless its just you, your husband, and your dog,,,then 2.5)

  • 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 3 tbsps coconut oil

  • .5 cup peanut butter

  • 1/2 ripe banana sliced

  • unsweetened coconut flakes or chopped nuts for topping (optional)

Kitchen tools:

  • Silicone muffin cups (or paper liners and a muffin tin)

  • Microwaveable bowl

  1. Melt the coconut oil and chocolate chips in the microwave (stir every 30 seconds).

  2. Add one tablespoon of chocolate mixture into silicone muffin liner and place in freezer for 10 minutes.

  3. Once chocolate has solidified, add one tablespoon of peanut butter and 1-2 slices of banana to the chocolate. Top with an additional tablespoon of chocolate and coconut flakes (optional).

  4. Freeze for an additional 10-15 minutes.

  5. Pronounce all five ingredients and enjoy!
