Healthy and Easy Homemade Tortillas

Craving healthy and easy flour tortillas? You don't have to include lard or preservatives to make delicious tortillas! Warm-up those shoulders, fresh tortillas coming right up!


Prep time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 15-20 minutes

Servings: 16 tortillas


Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of flour (+ additional for rolling out dough)

  • .5 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 cup warm water

Kitchen tools:

  • Bowl

  • Rolling pin

  • Skillet

Instructions:

  1. Preheat skillet to medium high.

  2. Mix dry ingredients.

  3. Add wet ingredients to dry and form into a ball.

  4. For easy dough division, create a log and cut it in half. Then cut each piece in half again and again, until 16 pieces are formed.

  5. Form a ball with each piece of dough.

  6. Lightly flour work area, and roll out dough to form whatever animal you desire. (Mine are never perfectly round.)

  7. Place on hot skillet. Once bubbling, flip (about one minute total).
